(Ad-Duha) 93 : 7
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَىٰ
And didn’t He find you astray, then guide you?
This verse means that before receiving Adhikr, which is the Guidance and Witness, not only the Messenger, but everyone is astray without knowing the Straightpath. The meaning of what is told in verse 11: 17 — “Is then one upon a Clear Evidence from his Lord, and a Witness from his Lord is explaining to him” — is that Messenger Muhammad was living the natural lifeway, which is Adhikr, taught from Paradise itself. Then, at the age of forty, he received prophethood, and Adhikr – the Straightpath – was revealed to him gradually. See explanation 12: 3; 26: 20; 91: 7-8.
